And now begins my memory's slow trickling-in of all the people I know eligible to be drafted. Somehow I remembered the young sons of my favorite family friends before even my own cousin. Another cousin I thought of earlier, but he is most likely too disabled to be eligible. You know, assuming anyone cares about the eligibility of the fodder right now. How is this nightmare still happening? Seems like all of reality since February is a bad dream. On a related note, Falco's "Der Kommissar" is now stuck in my head. Fairly certain that's not the meaning of the song, but "commissars" are the guys who issue draft notices in Russia, so. I know it’s being called a “partial mobilization” but. You know.
