Last Eureka, Breakthrough, or Neat Fact/Concept Learned: Mmm, so I figured out a way that works for me to group values better by painting over top of them on a low opacity layer. This was sometime in October initially, but it's been an ongoing process of discovery.

Favorite Online Fandom Memory: ~2016 Sheith discord server late-night squicky channel chats, ~2014-2015 Chatzy late-night PJO chats, ~2013-2014 Tumblr late-night Wincest asks and reblog chains. Hmm... maybe I should start staying up late again. Lol

Favorite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence: Season 1-2 of Teen Wolf. Assassin's Creed 1-3. I'd also be down for getting hype about a VLD spinoff/sequel, haha. Don't shoot me! I'd probably lose my mind if D.N.Angel got a new anime adaptation, esp if they were all reimagined to be at least college aged to make it make (more) sense. (Looking at 14yo Police Commander Hiwatari here.)

Favorite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big "Fandom" but You Wish It Did: The Unicorn Chronicles! And of course I wish Nightrunner and Legacy of Kain fandoms were a tiny bit bigger. :)

Tempting Project You're Trying to Rein In/Don't Have Time For: And AGAIN I want to draw a coloring book. But that would require so much time and practice. I'm not in shape for doing a lot of lineart due to rawdogging my canvasses with straight painting for years.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH I loved it!! It was so much fun. I went out by myself to one of those theaters that serves food and alcohol and ordered a really good sour beer with fried pickles, and it was just the perfect experience, I laughed so much, and was just grinning in delight the entire rest of the time. Especially love the dancing planet and the Khan family w/ my brain completely married to the concept that they essentially forcibly adopt Carol and Monica.

Here's my immediate post-watching take I wrote:

2012 Avengers fanfics but it's the Khan family living with Carol in the Rambeau house, along with whoever Kamala drags home to be part of her team. Sometimes they catsit Goose's entire litter.

The Khan family is crucial to my vision because I want every morning to start with a scene of Muneeba and Yusuf drinking coffee in the kitchen and discussing the latest progress (or lack thereof) on retrieving Monica from the alternate universe, and very much nagging Carol about it like she's their daughter and they're disappointed with her failing grade in Saving Friend. Carol being older than them does not as any point in time abash or dissuade them from this dynamic. Kamala also catches some of the heat, on top of the usual school-related admonitions, but manages to weasel out in true second generation teenager fashion. Neither Carol nor Kamala need any prodding to try to find Monica, but that's completely irrelevant. It's a long-term and slow-moving plot with many false hopes and big setbacks, but once Monica is finally recovered, Muneeba and Yusuf of course find a new respectable goal for Carol. ...and for Monica.

Sometimes, a "found" family can also be a whole ass nuclear family that pulled you into their gravitational field permanently.

Also loved Fury in this lmao.


OKay okay I'm done gushing I loved that movie even more than the first one I'm so normal about it haha.

Fury was also amazing :D :D I guess no one can remain intimidating while carrying half a dozen kittens and running after 4 more, so he just gave up from the start and he was damn right to.

Ooh! Was this a reread, or your first time through? (I know for a fact I've read this one, but I have so few real memories of it that I suspect I was too young when I read it and should revisit it as an adult...)
