a quick concept™
Brince Bokar, unholy Haggar creation, quasi-son of Shallura, Lotor's chaos husband, certified snek 🐍, in VLD style.

Exhibit A. What if i were to give this man a whole different backstory for funsies and ship him with VLD Lotor? The "if villain bad, why hot?" continues.

Hear me out. Once Haggar realizes that Lotor is her son, she constructs a ploy to get him to return to her and stop playing around with his schemes and things she believes he doesn't understand.

She's got a whole lot of scrap parts on hand. She knows his weakness for all things Altean, and while she could theoretically use some of her own DNA, she'd managed to scrape some of Princess Allura's DNA during the fight, and to round it out she has plenty of Galra, and a whole factory full of Shiro DNA and memories.

So she concocts Prince Bokar. He's most closely related to Allura, but she's used a decent amount of Shiro's genes to make a male specimen, and crafted some vague but good-enough false memories using the databanks from Shiro. And if a little snake-like alien DNA got in because some of the Galra genetic bits and bobs she added had unintentionally come from half-breeds... oh well.

Prince Bokar wakes up surrounded by concerned and benevolent faces, already "briefed" on his own cover and mission. He's an Altean Prince who had resisted Zarkon in exile a couple centuries after the death of King Alfor, from what was at the time the last remaining branch of the royal family, who had been put into stasis and ejected into space at the last moment to preserve him from an attack. His cryopod has landed on a semi-advanced planet and they've nursed him back to health, though the cryopod had malfunctioned from such a long time, likely causing the deterioration to his memories. Upon learning that he is Altean, the local ruler reaches out to Team Voltron, and by extension, Lotor.......

Or could go the revulsion-triggering-reveal angle and make him genetically Lotor's half-brother rather than essentially a Allura-Shiro child. Maybe Haggar just doesn't even think about mundane things like the emotional ramifications of setting up an incestuous honeypot for her own son.

Exhibit B. Observe that Bokar's red/black outfit is more flattering on the new, darker skintone. Therefore, "Bokar, son-of-Allura" is objectively correct worldbuilding.

*slaps Prince Bokar's ass* This man can fit everything:

  • Angst about being lab-grown and having no concrete identity of his own, only that which was given to him by Haggar.

  • Somehow being so sus that Lance, who hates Lotor and continues to accuse him of nefarious shenanigans at every turn, turns all his attention and dagger-glaring on this guy, and starts to question why he's cozying up to Lotor. Everyone has already heard this type of song-and-dance from him, however, so it falls on deaf ears.

  • Having his heart regularly broken talking to Allura, first sensing a connection and then testing it and knowing that she is essentially his mother but that he'll never be anyone's son. She's so kind, curious, and interested in who he is and what he's lived though, but he can never tell her the truth, and he'll have to leave her when he extracts Lotor.

  • Infinite capacity for hot and heavy sex with Lotor.

  • Pillowtalk where they accidentally trigger each other's deepest darkest cheatcodes by simply taking a stab at the unfamiliar act of showing affection and saying out loud what they themselves would theoretically want to hear. You know, things like, "You're important to me." Normal stuff. Nothing fancy. But devastating to all half-Altean princes within earshot.

  • Retractable fangs. With venom. I still haven't forgotten about his snakey origins. They're very hot fangs, perfect for biting your lover, and the venom can do many, many different things to a beloved victim.

  • Daddy issues. Sure, he's got two mommies if you count Haggar engineering him, and one is as distant to him as she had been to Lotor while the other doesn't know he exists, so there's plenty of mommy issues in the salad, but his "dad"... Bokar doesn't even need to test the DNA, he recognizes his dad the moment he lays eyes on him. He can feel Shiro in his memories. It's all been mashed up to not give him Shiro's exact memories, but he feels intimately connected to the person those memories had come from. They share a soul. But Shiro doesn't know him at all. Unlike the ever inquisitive Allura, Shiro is barely interested in him at all beyond his usual polite friendliness. The distance hurts as much as Allura's enthusiastic proximity.

  • Theft, of course. He can and will bond the Blue Lion, if it's the last thing he does.

  • Murder. I don't want him if he doesn't murder at least 10 people on-screen, one of whom must be a major character.

There's probably so much more I'm not considering, but I must away.
